Adam Barlow is sinking further into a hole as his marriage to Sarah is in tatters and his career on the edge of ruin. The character hasn't been having the best time of it after former fling Lydia Chambers arrived in Weatherfield back in Decmeber and befriended his wife while unbeknown to them, she was planning on ruining his life.
Bunner boiler Lydia dated Adam at university and when they met again before Christmas, the former love rat claimed to not know who Lydia was, fuelling her acts of revenge further.
So far she has been behind anonymous phone calls, a bogus tip-off to firearms police who stormed Adam's office, a bouquet of flowers with a menacing note arriving at his flat, and planting a phone to back her claims that they have been having an affair behind Sarah's back.

And next week, as the truth about their past comes tumbling out, a heated row ensues but when an emotional Lydia lashes out at a seemingly unrepentant Adam, a violent shove sees him falling over a first-floor railing crashing onto the floor below.
But during Wednesday night's trip to the cobbles, Corrie viewers saw Adam trying to get Sarah to talk to him as they bumped into each other outside Dev's shop.
"Can you get out my way, please," Sarah asked as her estranged husband tried to get her to talk before she called him a 'two-faced pig' and 'a joke'.
However, Corrie fans were distracted by Adam's new look as the character, played by Sam Robertson, had previously been seen rocking a shorter do and could almost always be found in a suit.
Instead, Adam was sporting a longer-haired, unshaven look and opted for a black rollneck jumper with his black coat over the top. And viewers were soon making a comparison.
@Jazzypap tweeted: "Adam appears to have dyed everything black, including his hair and his beard....full on Milk Tray guy! #Corrie."
"@PaulWirral [laughing emojis] Adam auditioning for the Milk Tray man #Corrie."
@Dayjur11 joked: "Thought he had a box of Milk Tray for Sarah just then. #Corrie."
"When Adam goes full Milk Tray Man #Corrie," @HazelScottComms added.
After his run-in with Sarah, Adam was later seen drowning his sorrows at the Rovers Return, much to barmaid Daisy Midgeley's dismay.
Adam, however, soon took things to a new low when he offered to buy a mystery woman a drink because he was 'celebrating', claiming it was his birthday before she quickly pointed out his wedding ring.
Asked what his wife had bought him, Adam replied with a sick lie: "My wife? No, no we're not together anymore. She died, last year, it was pretty sudden, it's a bit awkward talking about it."
Unimpressed, Daisy called in Daniel Osbourne, who intervened and Adam soon ended up with a glass of wine being thrown in his face.
