Coronation Street fans were quick to point out an issue David Platt is set to face as Jack P Shepherd, the actor who plays him, shared a detail about the character that viewers of the ITV soap will have never gotten to see.
The residents of Weatherfield are often seen about going about their daily lives, whether that be going for a drink in the Rovers or popping to Dev Alahan's shop for some immediate essentials.
And now Jack, who has played the former teenage tearaway for 22 years having made his debut on the famous cobbles as the son of Gail and Martin Platt in 2000, has let fans in on a soap secret and revealed David's bank card.
The 34-year-old actor had fans in hysterics as he flashed the plastic in a video posted to his Instagram page which appeared to have been filmed during a break in filming by his on-screen wife Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt.
The video starts with Jack just staring at the camera in his barber attire outside Trim up North when a voice can be heard saying: "Now I'm recording." Jack then whips out a wallet and says: "So David Platt's wallet. We can see who he banks with."
He then held the card up to the camera showing it belonged to David and then he shouted with a laugh: "WestClyde mother f*****!" referring to the fictitious bank probably used by the famous street's other residents.
Corrie co-stars Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass, and Tracy Barlow star Kate Ford commented on the post with a string of crying laughing emojis, clearly showing they saw the funny side.
But fans were quick to point out an issue with David's 'VANEX' debit card. @debbie.lennox.18 commented: "Better let him know his card has expired," with @laurenchelsea26 echoing: "You need a new card! You've expired."
@officialbigzy_786 wrote: "That cards out of date by two years," while @s.a.kxx shared: "It’s expired 2020!"
"West Clyde need to issue you a new card it looks like it’s out of date!" @lil_em_caddy added.
It's not the first time Jack has had fans laughing this week. On Monday (May 2) the soap star saw the funny side over a case of mistaken identity at the supermarket. He thought it was hilarious when a cashier in Sainsbury's recognised him, but not for his long-standing role on Coronation Street.
Instead, she was adamant that he was a contestant on the ITV gameshow Tipping Point after a celebrity episode he had appeared on repeated over the weekend. "Just in Sainos then," he said in a video shared on Instagram. "Woman on the till says 'where do I know you from?' I went 'oh it's Coronation Street.
"She went no. 'No you were on something last night.' She went 'Tipping Point, that's it.'" Jack burst out laughing as he recalled: "I went 'oh right was I?', 'yeah, how did you do?' 'not bad.'"
