Coronation Street fans were left horrified as Daisy Midgeley's stalker ramped up his obsession with the barmaid and let himself into her home. The ITV soap character, played by Charlotte Jordan, has been left terrified and distressed since discovering Justin Rutherford was behind the flowers continually being delivered to the Rovers Return for her.
Daisy has been dealing with Justin's constant messages and appearances on the street for weeks but her efforts to get help from the police has so far fallen on deaf ears. However, she does have hope that she'll be granted a Stalking Protection Order (SPO) despite them being notoriously difficult to obtain.
But before her court appearance, the bride-to-be's stalking nightmare intensified as she called the venue and rescheduled her wedding, only for the owner of her chosen bridal boutique called at the pub and told Daisy that they’ve had a call from Justin accusing her of assault and they were longer prepared to lend her a dress in return for promotion on her social media.
The influencer was devastated and she and fiance Daniel Osbourne ended up having a row as she thought he was blaming the ordeal on her being on social media. Later, back at No.1 where she is living with Daniel, his dad Ken and his adopted daughter Tracy, she heard the doorbell and checked her app she was horrified to see it was Justin.
Daisy ordered him to clear off and nervously waited for him to leave before collapsing into tears. However, when she returned to the living room after bolting the front door shut, she was shocked to find him standing there having got in the back door. He told Daisy he was 'worried' about her before going on to talk about their wedding and honeymoon, convinced they are a couple and that Daniel is just standing in their way.
Daisy remained calm as she desperately waited for Daniel to return home and after eventually deciding to swerve the Rovers for a drink, the teacher final arrived home and was shocked to see Justin in his living room as a terrified Daisy cowered next to him and called the police. But PC Craig Tinker explained that, unfortunately, the only thing Justin was guilty of was trespass and Daisy's nightmare appeared no closer to being over.
And while Corrie fans were left upset and distressed by the terrifying scenes, they couldn't help but point out a blunder relating to Daniel's return home. @liadaksy tweeted: "Hold on………. how did Daniel get in the front of the door was latched?? #Corrie."
@fussyMcWhiskers said: "#Corrie Daniel used his skills as a magical Houdini tribute act to get into the front door, which was bolted." @Daz0289 wrote: "How did Daniel get through front door with his key when daisy put chain on front door #Corrie."
@sleepydeeves asked: "#Corrie didn't Daisy lock that front door?" @a___w89 echoed: "She bolted that door? So how did Daniel get in #corrie." @lunchtimelady posted: "Daniel did well to get through the door after Daisy put the chain on #Corrie." @politik79 added: "#Corrie didn't Daisy put chain on then Eyebrow man,er sorry Justin walked in the back door and Dopey Daniel walked in through front door but chain was still on??"
