ITV Coronation Street fans distracted by everyday item in latest episode

Despite there being plenty of storylines going off on screen, Coronation Street fans couldn't help but be distracted by an everyday item. The latest trip to the cobbles on Wednesday night (May 25) featured a wet cement fight, some adoption news, and a worrying health scare.

First-up fans of the ITV soap were divided as love rivals Phill Whittaker and Tyrone Dobbs ended up getting into a bit of bother in Phill's back garden. Mechanic Tyrone had paid a visit to Phill's swanky home to collect ex-Fiz Stape's belonging after she dumped her new beau upon discovering he was writing a book about her serial killer ex-husband, John Stape.

However, as Tyrone berated Phill, the warring lads lost their balance and fell into wet cement and after making up, had to strip off and hose each other down. Meanwhile, back on the cobbles, Toyah and Imran Habeeb received some positive news about Elsie. They were due to adopt the little girl earlier in the year but their chances were scuppered when the pair split.

However, now they're married and have custody of baby Alfie, whom Imran shares with Abi Franklin, the couple have been offered a second chance at adopting Elsie, despite viewers spotting a problem. Elsewhere, Summer Spellman headed for her exam only to return home and find out Amy Barlow had given a better answer than she had for one of the questions.

Back in the flat, she hit the books while tucking into multiple bags of crisps. Soon Paul Foreman made an appearance and suggested they have a takeaway. But Summer, who was diagnosed with type one diabetes last year, ignored her rising sugar levels before eventually injected herself with insulin.

But it was scenes earlier in the episode that distracted Corrie viewers. Couple Craig Tinker and Faye Windass were walking down the street after a visit to the shop. The pair ended up talking about how Faye, who has been told she is going through early menopause, was paying a visit to the doctor and how one of her only options to combat her symptoms was hormone treatment.

While watching the mid-week edition of the ITV soap, @JohnWBruckshaw tweeted: "#Corrie 15 minutes in to tonights prog and ive seen FOUR CO OP bags on screen ! how many more to come?"

@poseidon_ashore said: "Seen three co op bags so far…is it a special co op day? #corrie." @PhilipCSwales wrote: "BIG CO-OP BAG ALERT! #corrie." @TavernHoyden shared: "#corrie Have they been to the CO-OP?" @cats4smm also noted: "Love the ‘subtle’ co-op carrier bag in Tyrone’s house covering the back door window, as you would. #corrie."

Corrie fans were excited earlier int he year to get an extra look at the famous cobbles as the show shared a behind-the-scenes montage. The soap took viewers along the iconic street, bumping into some of their favourite cast members along the way in a TikTok video shared on Corrie's official Instagram.

The footage included Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, giving a wave from the doorway of a Co-op store, rather than the familiar setting of Dev Alahan's much-loved corner shop which the characters regularly frequent. The character was also seen leaving the shop with a purchase, which may not impress Dev if he found out Billy has been shopping elsewhere.

The Weatherfield branch of the supermarket chain Co-op has actually been on the famous cobbles since 2018 following a revamp along with a Costa. The most recent addition to join the famous street is the EE mobile phone shop located near the Weatherfield tram stop.
