NAGPUR: After being on the backfoot for three days, Karnataka, thanks to a superb effort from pacers, made a big comeback in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Vidarbha on Monday. The Day 4 was all about the visitors’ dominance — both with bat and ball — at the VCA’s Civil Lines Stadium.
With overcast conditions prevailing over the city throughout the day, Karnataka pacers extracted ample movement off the pitch and air to skittle out Vidarbha’s second innings for just 196. Chasing a 371-run target, the visiting batters ended the Day 4 on 103 for 1 thanks to the 101-run opening partnership between skipper Mayank Agarwal, who remained unbeaten on 61 (77b;9x4;1x6), and Samarth R (40;69b;5x4).
