'It's not necessarily a revenge body': Britney Spears' ex Sam Asghari shows off 40lbs weight loss

Sam Asghari has revealed he has lost around 40 pounds following his split from Britney Spears.

The fitness model-turned-actor, 29, filed for divorce from the Toxic singer, 42, in August following 14 months of marriage.

Since then, he has undergone an impressive body "transformation" which is visible in a new photo campaign for animal cruelty charity PETA, encouraging people to adopt pets from shelters rather than buy them elsewhere.

Opening up about his fitness journey in a new interview with Page Six, he said: “So, in the past five months I’ve had a little transformation which was losing about a good 35 to 40 pounds.

“Sometimes when you are in a situation that you don’t get to necessarily focus on yourself, it could be challenging for you to notice [your physique changes] but everybody else does.

“I have more time for myself to focus on myself,” he explained. He was also keen to point out to the publication that it is “not necessarily a revenge body, but a self-love sort of thing," and said that he would be staying away from dating apps for the time being.Spears and Asghari were married in an intimate wedding in Los Angeles on June 9, 2022, after first meeting in 2016 on the set if her Slumber Party music video.

Asghari was Spears' third husband.

She was first married to childhood friend Jason Alexander, but it was annulled after 55 hours.

Her second marriage was to former dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons.
