Former Everton attacker Kevin Campbell has backed Frank Lampard's side to sign James Tarkowski.
The out of contract Burnley star has been one of the club's best players in recent seasons, though he was unable to prevent his side from sliding out of the Premier League this season after six years in the top-flight. Unable to reach fresh terms on a deal, the England international will be a free agent at the end of the month.
A host of teams have reportedly shown interest in the 29-year-old including Aston Villa, who announced the signing of Sevilla's Diego Carlos on Thursday afternoon.

Some reports suggest Tarkowski is seeking £90,000 - and links to the Blues have emerged. With Everton struggling to keep clean sheets in their battle against relegation, the addition of an established defender could arguably help in shoring up the backline.
Ex-Everton man Campbell believes the addition of the centre-back would be a 'good bit of business' ahead of what looks to be a busy transfer window for the Merseyside club.
“Yeah I think so. I think [Tarkowski] is a good player,” he told Goodison News on whether it was the right business for the club to be doing.
“He’s been around the Premier League a lot, and been a real rock at the back for Burnley for a good number of years now. A kind of unsung hero type, he’s always been ever present hasn’t he?
“And he just does his job. That’s the other thing, the good thing. He can defend and he does his job, it’s important. So I think that would be a good bit of business by Everton.”
