'It's a Sin' writer Russell T. Davies tells Tory voters 'you're voting for murderers, b**tards, abusers and liars' in scathing acceptance speech

It's a Sin and Dr Who writer Russell T. Davies has slated the Conservative party during an acceptance speech at the Sky Arts Awards. He stated they were "murderers, b**tards, abusers, and liars" as he took the stage to receive an award for his hit TV programme 'It's a Sin'.

The award-winning writer seized the opportunity to address Conservative voters both in the room and those at home, telling them to take what the UK Government has said it will do seriously. His comments come as he insisted people listen to the conservatives when they say they will "sell off" Channel 4, the broadcaster which made It's a Sin.

He said: "While I've got this stage, It's a Sin is made by Channel 4, a public service broadcaster dedicated to making this sort of programme. We know that the Government have said they're going to sell that off.

"I know the Government is wounded at the moment, but it's like a wounded dog, a wounded dog bites everyone and the rabies will spread. We're still in danger."

His message continued: "They have said they are selling Channel 4 and they have said they're stopping the licence fee by 2027, and we have to realise the things the Tories say they will do, they do.

"They are very good at that. We are full of doubt, they are not. They will do this, it is wrong. I know I'm speaking to the converted but there's money in this room and if there's money in this room that means there's Tory voters in here.

"You are here and you are certainly watching at home. So please know, you are voting for murderers, b*astards, abusers and liars."

What a hero" Others added: "What a hero", and "That is how you use a platform.".
