Most parents say preparing children for school is a financial burden - as it has emerged it'll cost €1,518 for a secondary school child this year.
That's up €27 on last year - while parents of primary school children will pay €1,195 compared to €1,186 last year.
And that's sparking fears that parents will go into debt to pay the bills and leave them vulnerable to illegal moneylenders.
