An Israeli strike targeting a motorcycle in southern Lebanon hit next to a hospital entrance in the town of Bint Jbeil on Monday, resulting in the death of the motorcycle driver and a hospital security guard. Several civilians were also wounded in the incident, according to local health officials.

The Israeli army did not provide a statement on the strike but mentioned targeting other areas in southern Lebanon in response to 'terrorist launches.'

Clashes between the Israeli forces and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah have been ongoing in the border area since October 8, following the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

The Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil received one fatality and nine wounded individuals, mostly civilians who were in front of the hospital at the time of the strike. A security guard who was injured later succumbed to his wounds.

Hezbollah retaliated by launching missiles at several locations in northern Israel. The violence has resulted in casualties on both sides, with over 400 people killed in Lebanon, including militants and civilians, and 25 casualties in Israel.

Tens of thousands of people have been displaced due to the clashes, prompting concerns of a potential Israeli offensive in Lebanon. The Israeli military conducted exercises simulating ground operations in Lebanon, while Hezbollah emphasized the need to stop aggression in Gaza to achieve peace in the region.

Efforts for a cease-fire on the Lebanon-Israel border have been ongoing, with Western countries proposing various solutions. The latest proposal focuses on strengthening the presence of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon to enforce a cessation of hostilities.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is expected to visit Beirut to further diplomatic discussions. The situation remains tense as both sides navigate the complexities of the conflict.
