Reports from Gaza have sparked widespread concern after media outlets alleged that Israeli soldiers subjected an 18-month-old Palestinian toddler to abuse in an effort to pressure his father into making a confession.

According to reports cited by outlets including Al Jazeera and Palestine TV, the child, identified as Karim Abu Nassar, was with his father when they came under fire from Israeli forces on Saturday. Eyewitness accounts suggest the father, Osama Abu Nassar, was detained at a checkpoint while the child remained nearby during the encounter.
