Recent Israeli raids and airstrikes in towns and villages in the occupied West Bank have led to the deaths of at least eight individuals, as reported by Palestinian authorities and local residents. The incidents occurred overnight from Monday into late Tuesday.
In the town of Tamoun, two Palestinians were killed, with allegations that one body was removed by the Israeli military using a bulldozer. CCTV footage from the area appeared to confirm this action. In Al-Shuhada village near Jenin, an Israeli airstrike claimed the lives of two individuals, identified as a man and his nephew by local residents.
Additionally, at least four people were killed in Qabatya, with two fatalities resulting from Israeli gunfire and two others from an Israeli military vehicle ramming a car and opening fire. A Palestinian employee in Qabatya was also reportedly injured by Israeli fire.
Israel has stated that its military operations in the West Bank are aimed at targeting militants and terrorist infrastructure. The surge in violence follows the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, prompting intensified Israeli military actions in the region.
Since October 7, 2023, a total of 775 Palestinians, including 167 children, have been killed by Israeli troops and settlers in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli settlers vandalized and set fire to vehicles in Al-Bireh, raising concerns of a potential massacre. The aftermath of the incident showed burned vehicles and damage to an apartment block, leaving residents shocked and distressed.
The West Bank, home to 3.3 million Palestinians under Israeli military occupation, has also seen nearly 1,600 settler attacks recorded since October 7, as reported by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
