On Wednesday, at least 10 people were killed in Lebanon as the Israeli military conducted “extensive strikes” on Hezbollah in the south and east of the country. The Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon reported three fatalities and 13 injuries in Ain Qana, three more deaths and nine injuries in Al-Maaysra in Keserwan, and four fatalities and seven injuries in Joun.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they were carrying out numerous strikes in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa area, having targeted over 100 locations in Lebanon by midday. Multiple Israeli airstrikes hit southern and eastern Lebanon, including towns near Nabatiyeh in the south and in the Beqaa Valley in the east.
According to the Lebanese state news agency, towns such as Nabi Sheet, Tallet Jabal Al-Malah, and Al-Muaisira were heavily impacted by the aerial assault. The IDF later reported that around 40 projectiles had crossed from Lebanon into Israel on Wednesday morning, with one hitting an assisted-living facility near Safed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident.
The recent escalation in violence between Israel and Hezbollah follows Israeli attacks that resulted in the deaths of more than 500 people on Monday, marking the deadliest day in Lebanon in over two decades.
