Sirens sounded in the Krayot area between 1:40 p.m. and 1:42 p.m. local time, followed by 10 projectile launches hitting Kiryat Shmona a few minutes later. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed fallen projectiles in Kiryat Shmona and mentioned a fire in a garage that firefighters are working to extinguish.
Yair Eliyakim, head of the firefighting command in northern Israel, described the attack on Kiryat Shmona as a direct hit, with footage showing buildings and cars engulfed in flames. A video shared by the municipality displayed a hole in the pavement, indicating a projectile impact.
As of Wednesday, a total of 120 projectile launches were fired from Lebanon, according to the IDF. The situation remains tense as authorities assess the damage and work to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.
