Israeli Forces Seize Hamas Compound In Gaza As Rockets Continue

JERUSALEM — Israeli forces over the past 24 hours took control of another Hamas “military” compound in the northern Gaza Strip, according to a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday.

Soldiers found anti-tank missiles and launchers, weapons and various intelligence material at the site, according to the IDF.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces directed an airstrike on a group of terrorists that had barricaded themselves in a building adjacent to the al-Quds Hospital in Gaza’s Tel al-Hawa area.

“The strike led to “significant secondary explosions” that indicated the presence of a Hamas weapons depot,” said IDF. 

Israel accuses Hamas of placing its terrorist infrastructure in and launching attacks from civilian sites such as hospitals, schools, houses of worship and United Nations buildings. The army has provided visual evidence of terror tunnels and rocket-launching positions in or around such sites.

Also in the past day, IDF fighter jets struck a 10-man terror cell under the guidance of ground forces, as well as an anti-tank missile cell operating in their vicinity.

“Dozens of Hamas mortars were also struck overnight Sunday,” reported IDF.

Israeli naval forces also struck targets in the Strip, including “posts containing technological assets.”

Israelis mark one month since Oct. 7 massacre

Israelis on Tuesday marked the one-month anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre that saw thousands of Hamas terrorists, followed by Gaza civilians, forcing their way across the border to rape, murder and pillage western Negev communities.

At least 1,400 persons were murdered, more than 5,000 wounded and over 200 hostages were taken back to Gaza.

At 11 a.m., a national moment of silence was held, with local authorities lowering flags to half-mast. Memorial ceremonies were held in educational institutions across the country. During the late afternoon and early evening hours, candles will be lit in town squares and city centers.

A memorial service for bereaved families is scheduled in Tel Aviv at 6:30 p.m., including a performance by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In Jerusalem, a memorial and protest rally by bereaved families is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in front of the Knesset.

Terror rockets targeting Israeli civilian centers continue

Hamas terrorists continued to fire rockets at Israeli civilians on Tuesday, with sirens sounding in areas surrounding the Gaza Strip early in the morning and later in the morning in Ashkelon’s industrial zone.

Daily rocket barrages have been launched at Israel from Gaza since the initial salvo during the Oct. 7 massacre, with terrorists firing more than 8,000 rockets at Israeli civilians.

IDF opens humanitarian corridor in Gaza again

The IDF on Tuesday again opened a humanitarian corridor for Gazan civilians to evacuate to the safe zone south across the Wadi Gaza.

It is the fourth consecutive day that Israeli troops have facilitated the movement of Gazans from the north, despite coming under attack by Hamas terrorists.

Avichay Adraee, the Israel Defense Forces’ Arabic-language spokesman, published video footage of a foot convoy of Gazans heading south on the Salah al-Din route.

IDF attacks terrorist cell in Lebanese territory

The IDF reported on Tuesday that it attacked a terrorist squad in Lebanese territory that attempted to launch an anti-tank missile at Israel near the Shatula area.

Earlier on Tuesday, the IDF said that it struck a Hezbollah post to thwart a threat.
