Palestinian health officials reported that Israeli forces conducted raids in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the deaths of nine Palestinians. The raids took place in Jenin and Tubas, with two men identified as Qassam Muhammad Jabarin, 25, and Asem Walid Balout, 39, killed in Jenin. The Israeli military confirmed operations in Jenin and Tulkarem but did not provide further details. Palestinian militant groups engaged in fire exchanges with the Israeli military, leading to heightened tensions in the region.

In a separate incident, Israeli strikes in Gaza claimed the lives of at least 16 individuals, including five women and three children. The strikes targeted the southern city of Khan Younis, resulting in multiple casualties. Efforts to rescue individuals trapped in the aftermath of the strikes were underway, with first responders working diligently to locate and assist those affected.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council was set to vote on extending the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon for a year. The resolution aimed to address the escalating exchanges between Hezbollah militants and Israeli forces, emphasizing the need for de-escalation and restoration of stability in the region.

In the Red Sea, a Greek-flagged tanker ablaze was blocked from receiving assistance by Yemen's Houthi rebels, posing a threat to both human life and the environment. Efforts to salvage the vessel were hindered by the rebels, prompting concerns about the potential environmental impact of the situation.

Amidst these developments, President Joe Biden's top Middle East adviser engaged in talks with Qatari leaders to advance efforts towards a cease-fire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas. The ongoing negotiations aimed to address the conflict between the two parties and alleviate tensions in the region.

As negotiations continued, talks between Israel and Hamas were set to move from Egypt to Qatar, signaling a shift in the mediation efforts. Key stakeholders from various countries were involved in the discussions, with a focus on achieving a temporary pause in the conflict and facilitating dialogue between the conflicting parties.
