The Israeli bombardment of Lebanon continued on Saturday morning, with strikes reported across the country and at least a dozen air raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs overnight, as per the National News Agency of Lebanon (NNA).
The Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) Arabic-language spokesperson issued a statement on Saturday, advising residents who had previously been instructed to evacuate their homes not to return for their safety. The southern suburbs of Beirut have been targeted by Israel daily for the past week.
Between 12:50 AM and 2:44 AM local time, the IDF spokesperson issued three separate warnings to residents of Beirut’s southern suburbs to evacuate before planned airstrikes. The warnings highlighted the proximity of the residents to Hezbollah facilities and interests, which the IDF intended to target in the near future. Maps of the specified areas were included in the evacuation orders.
Elsewhere in Lebanon, NNA reported airstrikes in various areas, including the Beqaa valley in the east, the city of Tyre on the Mediterranean coast, and southern communities closer to the border with Israel.
