Israeli Attacks In Gaza Displacement Camps Leave 29 Dead

Former hostage released from the Gaza Strip on November 29 reunites with loved ones in Israel

On Tuesday, two separate Israeli attacks targeted displacement camps in the Rafah governorate, resulting in a devastating loss of life. According to Gaza's Ministry of Health and the Emergency Committee of the Rafah Governorate, at least 29 Palestinians were killed in these attacks.

The first attack occurred in Tal al-Sultan camp in western Rafah around 3 a.m. local time. Residents and reports from the ground indicate that a strike hit three tents, leading to the deaths of at least eight individuals who were then taken to a field hospital in the camp.

Tal al-Sultan camp is situated near a UN warehouse, which sustained damage from the strike. This camp, targeted on Tuesday, is in close proximity to another displacement camp that had been struck just two days prior, resulting in the deaths of at least 45 people and injuries to over 200 others.

Footage captured by sources on the ground shows displaced individuals dismantling their makeshift shelters in Tal al-Sultan camp, gathering their belongings, and evacuating the area using trucks and donkey carts.

The second attack took place later on Tuesday afternoon in the southern coastal town of Al-Mawasi. An Israeli strike hit a displacement camp in this area, leading to the tragic deaths of at least 21 people, including 13 women. Additionally, at least 64 individuals were injured, with 10 reported to be in critical condition, as per Gaza's Ministry of Health.
