Recent Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza have led to a devastating loss of life, with at least 50 people reported dead, including 17 members of a single family. The local health ministry confirmed the casualties, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, the general director of the ministry, revealed that most of the fatalities occurred in the city of Beit Lahiya. Among the victims were 17 family members of Hani Badran, a dedicated cardiologist who was on duty at Kamal Adwan hospital when the fatal strike occurred.
Tragically, Badran's children, along with his sister, her husband, and their children, were among those who lost their lives. The heartbreaking loss also included Badran's sister's newborn baby, whom he had delivered and planned to register just a day later.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital's director, expressed deep concern over the relentless attacks, noting that Badran's entire household had been wiped out. He further disclosed that the hospital itself had come under fire, exacerbating the already dire situation.
Describing the harrowing scenes, Safiya emphasized the urgent need to halt the violence, calling for global intervention to end the bloodshed. Patients at the hospital were reportedly overwhelmed with fear and horror, underscoring the urgent plea for a cessation of hostilities.
While Source has reached out to the Israeli military for a statement regarding the hospital attack, the military has previously stated that its operations target terrorist infrastructure and operatives in Beit Lahiya.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza continues to exact a heavy toll on civilians, with innocent lives being lost in the crossfire. The international community faces mounting pressure to intervene and bring about a peaceful resolution to the escalating violence.
