Israel was prepared to shoot down a FlyDubai passenger plane carrying more than 150 Israelis if it was determined to have been hijacked after the captain was attacked in the cockpit last week, CBS News reported, citing two Israeli sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

The flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv plunged about 14,000 feet after the co-pilot allegedly attacked and stabbed the captain and attempted to take control of the aircraft.
