Israel on Wednesday said its military killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, identified by Israel as the head of Hamas’ finance department, in a strike in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed the killing in a joint statement, with Netanyahu also posting the statement on X. “A short while ago in Khan Younis, the IDF eliminated Hamas terrorist organization finance department head Muhammad Abu Alwan,” Netanyahu said in the post.
