
Biden backs Israel in TV address after terror attacks
More than 10 British citizens are reported to be feared dead or missing in Israel, as the country ordered a “complete siege” on Gaza in retalation for Hamas’s brutal and unprecedented attack.
Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant officially announced the blockade of the beseiged enclave on Monday, saying authorities will cut electricity and prevent the entry of food and fuel.
Meanwhile, more than 260 bodies have so far been removed from the Supernova festival, , which came under attack by Hamas militants early on Saturday morning, with British citizen Jacob Marlowe among the missing.
A number of Israeli tanks and personnel carriers have since been spotted near the Israel-Gaza border, on the same day that Israel formally declared war on Hamas, heightening fears that the conflict will escalate.
At least 700 people have reportedly been killed in Israel — a staggering toll on a scale the country has not experienced in decades — and almost 500 have been killed in Gaza, with thousands wounded. Palestinian militants claimed to be holding over 130 captives.
