Israel's military has recently announced an expansion of its operations into southwestern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the region. The 146th Division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been actively engaged in these operations, marking the first reserve division to operate in southern Lebanon as part of the ongoing efforts against Hezbollah in the northern arena.
The IDF highlighted that the 146th Division, which previously served as a defensive regional brigade in areas such as northern Israel, the Gaza Strip, and the occupied West Bank, is now focusing its efforts on Hezbollah targets in southwestern Lebanon. This division is working in conjunction with the 213th Artillery Brigade to carry out its operational activities.
Over the past week, Israel's ground incursion in southern Lebanon has primarily concentrated on the eastern part of the border area. The IDF described these operations as 'limited, localized, targeted operations' aimed at disrupting Hezbollah's presence and activities in the region.
