A source told the Sunday Mirror: “Lisa Smith has not come to the attention of prison staff since she was locked up at Limerick jail.
“She will get her 25 per cent remission taken off her sentence of 15 months for good behaviour.
“She has been telling inmates how she will return to her family and young child who she appears to have missed a lot.
“She keeps her head down, and in between her daily prayers she mixes with other inmates.”
Smith is locked up alongside some of the country’s most dangerous female killers, includng Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall and child killer Karen Harrington.
She has become pally behind bars with IRA assassin Rose Lynch.
The source revealed: “The pair of them get on really well.
“I suppose you could say they have a lot in common, both being found to be part of illegal organisations.”
In March, Smith, a convert to Islam, lost an appeal against the severity of her 15-month sentence for being a member of IS.
She went to Syria in 2015 after terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi called on Muslims to travel to the country.
She had pleaded not guilty to charges of membership of IS and providing funds to benefit the group.
She was cleared of funding terrorism. The maximum charge for membership of a terrorist group is eight years.
Delivering the Court of Appeal’s decision Justice John Edwards rejected claims that the 15-month sentence was “excessive”.
He said IS “challenges our democratic values, our respect for human rights and the rule of law”. He said members are “subversive of our values and are committed to destroying them”.
