Is WWE coming to Netflix? All we know on as wrestling looks set for the streaming service

Wrestling mania is set to come to our screens soon, after a major deal was announced.

The much-loved American franchise WWE announced a mega partnership with leading streaming service Netflix, after a week of controversy marred the sport.

Long-term boss Vince McMahon resigned from WWE's parent company last week following a sex-trafficking lawsuit.

The 78-year-old businessman and executive, who is a well-known figure within the sport, resigned one day after a former employee filed a lawsuit against him.

She accused McMahon and another former executive of serious sexual misconduct, including offering her to a star wrestler for sex.

McMahon stepped down from his position as executive chairman of the board of directors at WWE's parent company, TKO Group Holdings, according to a statement released late on Friday (January 26). He continued to deny wrongdoing.

However, the suit does not deter from the popularity of the sport, with fans wanting to know whether it is coming to Netflix soon.

Is WWE coming to Netflix?

Yes! WWE has announced that it has "sealed a partnership" with the streaming giant Netflix. The mega deal will see the sport's flagship weekly wrestling programme, Monday Night Raw, being streamed live from Netflix to viewers in the US, Canada, UK, and Latin America at first, with "additional countries and regions added over time".

When is WWE coming to Netflix and what will the deal include?

The show will stream live on the platform from January 2025 and it is not just the flagship Monday Night Raw which will be available.

Netflix will also become the home of WWE SmackDown, WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam. WWE’s award-winning documentaries, original series, and forthcoming projects will also be available on Netflix internationally beginning in 2025.

The programme has been shown on broadcast TV around the world for 31 years.

But TKO media bosses have announced that Raw will be exclusive to streaming from next January.

How much is the deal worth?

The deal is a long-term one, and as a result, has been a mega money partnership. It has been valued at $5bn (almost £4bn) over 10 years.

Netflix said: “WWE is great sports entertainment with a huge, established and passionate fanbase, and we believe this long-term partnership will be a big value add for our members."
