The Scandoval has caused plenty of grief, but is Vanderpump Rules cancelled? Did Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss manage to put an end to the Bravo reality series—and the friend group—with their infidelity?
We just got a sneak peek of the toxic and argumentative Vanderpump Rules finale, and we think it's safe to say season 10 is the most memorable one to date. But where do things go from here now that everyone, more or less, hates each other?
Is 'Vanderpump Rules' cancelled? Fans are starting to worry
While there are no updates on what Vanderpump Rules season 11 will look like just yet, we don't suspect this to be the end of show's journey. Perhaps it will be for cast members Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss, but there isn't any reason to suspect that the entire series will go kaput. If anything, this dramatic ordeal has given the reality show new life!
The reason why fans might be thinking that things were coming to an end is because TMZ just dropped word that Pump Restaurant, Lisa Vanderpump's longtime lounge and restaurant in West Hollywood, is set to close in July 2023.
"It's with heavy hearts that we announce that the lease at Pump Restaurant is expiring, and we will be closing its doors on July 5th, after 10 years of beautiful evenings under our olive trees," the statement read.
While the shuttering definitely comes as a bit of a surprise considering the restauranteur is opening two additional spots in Caesars in Las Vegas and seems to have the hospitality industry on lock, it's not a direct reflection on the show, considering the main group got its start at LVP's restaurant, SUR. If that restaurant were to shut down, then we'd have some questions.
Allegedly, the decision to end Pump's 10-year-long reign came when Lisa and her husband Ken uncovered that they would have to pay $1 million in rent annually for the spot on Santa Monica and Robertson in West Hollywood, a jump that was even too drastic for the cast member with the highest Vanderpump Rules net worth.
"While we have loved our time operating Pump, to take on another 10-year lease with a huge increase in rent by the landlords, is not something we are ready to commit to. After successfully running 37+ establishments for many years, this type of rent is untenable," the statement added.
Before we jump ahead with the future, we're still waiting to see what unfolds at the end of this contentious tenth season. The Vanderpump Rules reunion is likely airing on Wednesday, May 24, though Bravo is withholding the release date and keeping anxious fans on their toes. We suspect it will be a three-part situation à la The Real Housewives reunions.
One thing's for certain: even though it hasn't aired yet, this reunion will definitely go down in the Bravo history books.
“If you are looking to hear [Tom and Raquel's] story, you will,” host Andy Cohen said on WWHL. “If you are looking for them to be confronted to their face about what they’ve done, in what I would say [was] an aggressive manner—a confrontational manner—you will get it.”
Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo on Wednesdays at 9pm EST, and can be streamed next-day on Peacock.
