Is United States vs Portugal on TV? Channel, kick-off time and how to watch international friendly

World Cup hosts United States play host to Portugal in an international friendly tonight though American fans will be deprived of marquee attraction Cristiano Ronaldo.

International football’s all-time record goalscorer looked set to whet the appetite on US soil, three months out from this summer’s tournament finals hosted across the Atlantic.

However, a hamstring injury ruled him out of contention for March’s friendlies, meaning fans will have to wait a bit longer to see him stateside on the biggest stage of them all, a World Cup which at 41 will surely be his last.

Portugal played out a goalless stalemate with fellow hosts Mexico last time out and will hope for better against the US, who endured quite the reality check in a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Belgium on Saturday.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the United States vs Portugal?

The United States’ friendly with Portugal kicks off at 12am BST (Tuesday 4pm PT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET) on Wednesday 1 April at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

How can I watch it?

Fans in the UK can stream the match on Prime Video via Premier Sports subscription, which start at £17.99 per month. In the USA, it will be streamed on Peacock.

Team news

The US have a fair few injuries to contend with as they remain without Tyler Adams due to an MCL problem, while Jako Wright and Serginho Dest are sidelined. Goalkeeper Roman Celentano also has a knock, opening the door for Matt Turner to make his first appearance for his country since last June.

No Ronaldo for Portugal means attacking impetus will be on Goncalo Ramos, though the problems don’t stop there for Roberto Martinez. Manchester City duo Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva are out while goalkeeper Diogo Costa is unavailable due to an adductor problem.

Predicted line-ups

USA XI: Turner; Weah, Richards, McKenzie, A. Robinson; Tessmann, Roldan; Pulisic, McKennie, Reyna; Pepi.

Portugal XI: R. Silva; Cancelo, Inacio, Veiga, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha; Neto, Fernandes, Felix; Ramos.
