Is Tommy DeVito playing today? Injury updates for Giants QB

The New York Giants’ messy quarterback situation took another unfortunate turn on a short week ahead of a Thanksgiving Day showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

After the Giants benched and then released Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito made his first start of the season and threw for 189 yards in a 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers – but a forearm injury is expected to force the Giants to turn to another starter on Thursday.

Tommy DeVito injury update

After being hit several times in his first start last weekend – he was sacked four times – DeVito was listed as questionable to play this week with a forearm injury. DeVito did not practice with the team on Wednesday, and coach Brian Daboll said DeVito was “not 100 percent.”

How long will Tommy DeVito be out?

Given that DeVito was only listed as questionable, and that the Giants have a longer layoff until a Week 14 game on December 8th. It’s possible that DeVito could return next week against the Saints.

That could depend on the play of Drew Lock against the Cowboys. As DeVito is far from an entrenched starter, should Lock revive the Giants’ offense, it’s possible that Lock would get the nod as the starter for the rest of the season.

Giants QB depth chart

With DeVito likely out and Daniel Jones now gone and with the Vikings practice squad, the Giants are left with probable starter Drew Lock and backup Tim Boyle.
