The United States may be closer than before to ending its twice-yearly clock change, but daylight saving time has not been made permanent yet. The House passed a bill in July that would keep most of the country on daylight saving time throughout the year. The measure still needs approval from the Senate and President Donald Trump before it can become law.
Under current law, clocks are scheduled to move back by one hour on November 1, 2026.
