Is there new Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber 'eyebrow' drama? Here's why fans are speculating

Do we have fresh Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber eyebrow-related drama on our hands? Well, that's certainly what fans seem to think.

It's been nearly 6 months since that whole Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber 'feud' first kicked off, where the internet dissolved into chaos and pitted the two women—who both famously have romantic pasts (present in Hails' case) with Justin Bieber—against each other. It was pretty brutal but things finally seemed to cool off, after both Selena and Hailey condemned the incessant online hate and speculation and even followed each other on Insta.

But now, fans are claiming there's a new development and yes, it once again revolves around eyebrows. Let's unpack it...

What's the deal with this new Selena and Hailey drama?

Well, it all seemingly 'reignited' after Selena Gomez announced the new Rare eyebrow gel over on Instagram. In her post, she wrote: "You know how much I love a laminated brow and I’m excited to finally share that my new @rarebeauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel is here. It’s my staple for that natural, fluffy, lifted brow—it holds all day without being stiff, sticky, or crunchy. You can shop it now only at RareBeauty.com."

Fans have taken this as a reference to the original brow debacle, with one commenting: "Oh she did! She DID IT 😂 And we are here for the subtle clap back on foolishness and spin it into BUSINESS MOVE!!"

"Turned a petty shade thrown at her into a marketing move," quipped another, with a third adding: "LMAOO THE CAPTIONS LOWK SHADY GO SELENA ILY."

Many are now taking Hailey Bieber's now-deleted Instagram story (as per Glamour) as something of a response, as she posted a meme that read: "Unfortunately for everyone, I’m gonna keep getting prettier every day," before then sharing two 'Strawberry Girl' makeup selfies.

Personally, we think the claims of new drama are a bit of a reach, especially after both stars have previously debunked the beef claims.

In fact, back in June 2023, Hailey—who is rumored to have a makeup line in the works—addressed the drama, telling The Circuit: "I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez. This is not about this pitting between two women—it’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted, and perpetuated narratives that can be really dangerous."

What happened with the OG Selena and Hailey drama?

The whole eyebrow sitch, first began back in February 2023, after Selena posted a TikTok story with the Bella Hadid filter and sound, saying she wishes she was as pretty as the model, before revealing that she tried (and supposedly failed) in laminating her eyebrows to look like hers.

A few hours later, Kylie Jenner then posted a close-up of her eyebrow on her IG story, with the caption: "This was an accident?????" before sharing a screenshot of her and Hailey showing their eyebrows to each other on FaceTime. This, of course, led to fans speculating that they were throwing shade at Selena.

Kylie then went on to comment on a TikTok video discussing the drama and wrote: "This is reaching. no shade towards Selene ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly."

Selena then also replied saying: "Agreed @kyliejenner, it's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"

Shortly afterward, Selena announced she was taking a break from social media before she then returned in March and shared a statement that read: "Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop."

Hailey also share her own statement, thanking Selena and adding: "Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself. In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion."

The pair then went on to follow each other on Instagram and have made it abundantly clear that they're over all of this and so are we, to be honest.
