Babe wake up, a sixth love language just dropped, and it’s the extremely affectionate act of sending your boo a cheeky (and consensual) photo.
That’s according to a recent survey conducted by Moonpig Australia, which found that trading spicy pics has evolved into a mainstream way for couples to flirt, connect and maintain intimacy, especially in the digital age.
Since nothing is sexier than the stats, let’s get into it — like you do moments after firing off a dick pic. The survey found that 52 per cent of Aussies admitted to sending NSFW snaps, with 69 per cent saying the act had a positive impact on intimacy in a relationship.
That’s some pretty impressive feedback, to the point where I simply must know how the respondents are maximising their angles and lighting and how they’re requesting the pics. Is #sendnudes still a thing?

The survey also revealed that half of Aussies say sending naughty pics makes them feel flirty (duh), and found that Western Australia is home to the most nude-traders (72 per cent), followed by NSW (54 per cent) and (Victoria (53 per cent).
All of it contributes to what sexologist Georgia Grace says is a brand new love language, because gift giving and acts of service are so last year. “Cheeky pics aren’t just a trend, more people are embracing them as the modern love language,” Grace said.
“Sharing a spicy photo with a trusted lover or partner (always consensually!) can be a playful, flirty way to stay connected. It actively builds anticipation and serves as a bridge between everyday life and our sex lives,” she added.
Of course, the trend only applies when the act is consensual, since there’s nothing less sexy than an unsolicited pic when you’re just trying to go about your morning commute without triggering your gag reflex.
The survey comes just weeks out from Valentine’s Day, so what better time to wrap it in a bow, get the angle just right, and send your boo your package in all its perfectly-lit glory? (And yes, Moonpig has a new range of cards that celebrate the humble nude.)

Whatever you do, keep it cute and not creepy, and avoid sending pics at work. There’s a reason it’s not suitable for work, and it’s because the only package your boss cares about is a salary package.
