Is 'Renaissance' Beyoncé's last tour? Why the Beyhive is worried

Beyoncé Renaissance tour. Beyoncé performs onstage during the opening night of the “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR” at Friends Arena on May 10, 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden

After what felt like centuries of waiting, the Beyoncé Renaissance tour is officially here!

Queen Bey's disco-fabulous world tour in support of her seventh studio album, Renaissance, kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden, on Wednesday, May 10. (It will wrap up on Wednesday, September 27 in New Orleans, Louisiana). And fans immediately took to social media to grab sneak peeks of the setlist, swoon over the superstar's glamorous outfits (that bee outfit! that Death Becomes Her reference!), and get some serious fitness inspo. (For real, we're following that Beyoncé workout routine to the T because mama is in shape.)

And while the Beyhive is positively abuzz about the new shows, some fans are worried that the Renaissance tour might be the singer's last. Here's what we know about those farewell-tour rumors.

Is the Beyoncé 'Renaissance' tour the singer's farewell?

As of press time, there's no word either way if the Beyoncé Renaissance tour will be the "Cuff It" crooner's final tour. However, that hasn't stopped the star's fandom from speculating. Fans pointed out the sheer length of the show—a whopping three hours—and the career-spanning setlist, which includes the entirety of Renaissance, greatest hits including "Crazy in Love," "Run the World (Girls)" and "Love On Top," and throwbacks like the tour's opener, "Dangerously in Love" from her Destiny's Child days.

"This really felt like a farewell tour. Beyoncé performed for 3 full hours, did all of Renaissance and another 15-20 hits," one fan tweeted. Another concurred: "It's giving... greatest hits farewell tour. I'm actually quite concerned." Another reasoned with themselves that, instead of a goodbye tour, maybe Bey was instead going the way of Taylor Swift and merely revisiting the full breadth of her career for her first solo tour in seven years: "I know people are saying it's a farewell tour but like, what if it's her version of an eras tour, her literal renaissance, and this is just a pivotal turn in her career instead of a culmination, a midpoint celebration."

Here's what fans are saying on Twitter:

We know how secretive Beyoncé can be (girl, we're still waiting on those visuals), so we doubt that we'll hear anytime soon if Renaissance is her touring swan song. Even if it is (*sobs*), maybe she'll pull an Adele and take up a Las Vegas residency!

Beyoncé Renaissance tour will bop around Europe through Wednesday, June 28, until heading to North American with a Friday, July 8 gig at Toronto's Rogers Centre.
