Following her viral stint at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, rumours have been circulating that Dr Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn will appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2025. After some flipping and flopping, an insider has spilled a big bulk of tea that hints towards the B-Girl’s appearance in the jungle.
To give you a quick recap on Raygun’s rise to stardom, the 37-year-old became a pop culture phenomenon after delivering a variety of quirky moves to the Paris 2024 breaking event, which included a kangaroo hop and sprinkler.
While copping a mixed bag of reactions, rumours of an appearance on Aussie reality TV started to brew.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is gearing up for its 2025 run — with hosts Julia Morris and Robert Irwin confirming a premiere date of January 19. As a result, cast rumours are amping up and Raygun is in the middle of it.
Is Raygun going on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2025?
In a cheeky tea spill to Yahoo! Lifestyle, a Network 10 insider claimed that the show was “very close” to signing on the B-Girl and that they’re willing to spend a bunch on dosh for her appearance in the jungle.
“Raygun is one name at the top of the list who bosses have been working on since she went viral,” the insider spilled.
“Initially Raygun’s team declined, but now she’s realising her window to make big money is quickly closing — and it’s unlikely she’ll ever get a six-figure sum to do a show ever again.”
Money, fame and a trip to the jungle? Why the heck not?
This isn’t the first time an insider has claimed Network 10 was super interested in the Olympian. When rumours first popped off about the B-Girl’s appearance on the beloved show, an anonymous source described Raygun as “the ideal campmate”.
“The public will want to hear her story in the jungle. Love her or loathe her, she has everyone talking,” the insider told New Idea.
“It’s these viral moments and water-cooler conversations that I’m A Celebrity will want to capitalise on, and they won’t want to miss out on a casting moment like this.”
Although the hot goss sounds exciting, Raygun has previously shut down rumours of appearing on reality TV, telling The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick that appearing on telly wasn’t a good fit ‘cos she has a “very memeable face”.
“There’s been some amazing memes that have come out, and I just don’t think reality TV is the space for me,” she told the radio hosts.
“So I’m going to focus on things where I can really bring joy and to try and encourage people to be creative.”
She then echoed the same “memeable face” statement to Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, telling the radio trio that reality TV “is just not the right move” for her.
“No. I mean, look, as someone that went viral from their performance at the Olympics, I think I’ve got a very memeable face! It’s very expressive, and I just feel like going on reality television is just not the right move,” she shared.
I think her presence on I’m A Celebrity could be legit because the B-Girl has kinda been flipping and flopping with her retirement announcement — remember that whole shebang? — so who knows! It’s anyone’s game.
