Rangers will look to end their current run of poor form when they host Aberdeen at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon in the Scottish Premiership.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's precarious position as Rangers boss took another turn for the worst on Wednesday evening - albeit in difficult circumstances - as they travelled to Napoli, losing 3-0 against the Serie A league leaders who have now won their last 12 games in all competitions. With a measly draw against Livingston last weekend and a dour 1-0 win over second-tier Dundee in the Premier Sports Cup last Wednesday, the Light Blues are in need of a serious confidence boost as the season heads for the World Cup break.
On the other hand, Jim Goodwin's men are on a resurgent run themselves. Bar the anomaly of a 4-0 loss at Dundee United at the start of October, the Dons have won four of their last five games in all competitions, including impressive wins over Hearts and Motherwell along the way. Of course, Rangers pose a different threat, but with evident murmurs of discontent, the away side could well pick up at least a point at Ibrox.
