Nicole Kidman and John Travolta have been drawn into renewed dating speculation after a tabloid claim, republished by Yahoo Entertainment, alleged the pair have been in frequent contact following Kidman's divorce from Keith Urban. Neither Kidman nor Travolta has confirmed any romantic relationship, and the report relies on an unnamed source rather than on-the-record comment.
The allegation has gained traction because it lands weeks after court filings finalised Kidman and Urban's split, while Travolta has offered rare public glimpses of his private life through social media posts about his children.
Claim Hinges on Tabloid Sourcing
Yahoo Entertainment attributed the story to the National Enquirer, quoting an unnamed source who said Travolta had offered Kidman 'a shoulder to lean on' as she navigates the end of her marriage. The same account claimed the actors had known each other for years, lost touch for a long period and recently reconnected, with the source alleging Travolta contacted Kidman quickly after learning of the split.
The report also said 'people around John' had been speculating he might have developed feelings because he appeared 'so cheerful' after speaking with Kidman, adding that the source claimed he denied anything beyond friendship. No corroborating evidence was presented, and the Yahoo write-up did not include comment from either actor or their representatives.
Separate celebrity coverage has offered mixed signals about Kidman's personal life, adding to the uncertainty around the Travolta claim. TMZ reported that MGM Resorts International chairman Paul Salem was 'romantically pursuing' Kidman, while also stating she was 'single and not currently dating anyone' and that they were not dating.
Rumours Set Against Confirmed Divorce Terms
What is confirmed is the status of Kidman's divorce from Urban and the terms described in US court filings reported by People. People reported that the former couple, both 58, filed a settlement agreement in court on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026 — about three months after Kidman filed for divorce — citing 'irreconcilable differences.'
According to People, the settlement included both parties waiving rights to child and spousal support, with each responsible for their own legal fees and expenses. People also quoted language from the parenting agreement stating: 'They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent' and 'They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.'
The same report said Kidman's home would be the primary residence for the couple's daughters — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15 — with Kidman having them for 306 days a year and Urban for 59 days, including alternating weekends from 10 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday. E! News referenced the 'Happy Galentines' post Kidman shared on Feb. 13, describing it as a message she posted weeks after the divorce was finalised in January.
Travolta has not addressed the Yahoo/National Enquirer claim, but he recently posted a family photo with his children Ella Bleu, 25, and Benjamin, 15. In the caption, he wrote: 'My beautiful babies in my belated Christmas card 2025. Hope all is going well.'
With no direct confirmation from Kidman or Travolta, the current reports remain a matter of tabloid allegation rather than established fact.
