Many businesses shut their doors or reduce their hours during the Christmas period so staff can spend quality time with their loved ones.
Fast food restaurants are no different. And whether you're fancying some chicken nuggets after your five-course Christmas dinner or if you're craving a midnight snack, some people might be wondering if McDonalds is open on Christmas Day.
But most McDonald's restaurants will be closed. There are dozens of McDonald's in Greater Manchester and none of them will be open.

Fear not - most Maccies will reopen again come Boxing Day. But many will be operating on reduced hours due to the holidays, with some 24-hour McDonald's not opening until 11am on Monday 26 December.
Opening times might also be different on Tuesday 27 December, as it will be a substitute Bank Holiday for Christmas day - which falls on a Sunday this year.
To be sure, check the hours of your local McDonald's on their restaurant locator.
The fast food chain's website says: "Only a handful of McDonald's restaurants open on Christmas Day, please refer to the restaurant locator to confirm if your local restaurant is open during the Christmas period and what times they are trading."
Last month, McDonald's launched its 2022 festive menu. The Big Tasty burger, made up of a beef patty, Emmental cheese, onions, juicy tomatoes, and a unique smoky flavoured sauce, made a come back.
The Festive Pie, filled with mincemeat and custard, also made a return alongside the Cheese Melt Dippers and Celebrations McFlurry.
The Christmas menu will be available until Wednesday January 4.
