It's Christmas Day but that won't stop some people from wondering if McDonald's is open.
The popular fast food giant has legions of followers tempted by a trip to golden arches on any given day of the year. Let's not forget that plenty of people don't celebrate Christmas and they might fancy a fast food fix today.
There's also a lot of people in work today, so a quick whizz through the drive thru at lunch time or on the way home could be tempting. If you spent Christmas Eve really getting into the festive spirit you might be suffering from a monster hangover that only a Big Mac could fix.

Or if you've got a long journey to visit relatives you might be hoping to nip to a McDonald's on the way to keep hunger at bay. Whatever the reasoning, it's all begs the question - is McDonald's open on Christmas Day in the UK?
The answer, according to a McDonald’s spokesperson, is: “As a franchised business, it is at the discretion of each franchisee to decide on when their restaurants operate throughout the year, including over the festive period. These decisions will reflect the needs of local communities and crew, and cater for a cross section of the UK workforce, especially those who may be working on Christmas day.”
We've taken a look at the McDonald's restaurants in Liverpool and none are open on Christmas Day. This year many McDonald’s restaurants closed earlier than usual on Christmas Eve (most at 8pm) and have reduced hours on Boxing Day (most reopen at 11am). Some also have reduced opening times on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Visit the McDonald's website for details of your local McDonald’s to check their exact opening hours over the Christmas period.
