Is Jonathon Brooks playing in Week 10? Injury updates for the Panthers RB

Running back Jonathon Brooks is finally available for the Carolina Panthers. But don’t bank on seeing the 21-year-old rookie’s much-anticipated NFL debut this weekend.

Brooks, who was officially moved to the active roster this past Wednesday, seemingly has a chance to play in Carolina’s Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants.

Head coach Dave Canales provided the latest update on the team’s 2024 second-round pick following this morning’s practice from Munich, Germany.

“They’re a possibility,” Canales said of Brooks and outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum. “They looked good all week. So they’re makin’ the decision pretty hard on us with their availability and knowing that those are two really good players that can help us. So, we’ll make that decision in the next couple days.”

Brooks tore the ACL in his right knee while still playing for the University of Texas Longhorns last November. Although he did expect to be healthy by training camp, the 46th overall selection remained sidelined throughout the offseason and began the regular season on the reserve/non-football injury list.

He was listed as questionable for the contest on Friday after a full week of practice.
