Is House of The Dragon based on a book?
House of The Dragon is indeed based on a book. The drama series is from author George RR Martin's Fire & Blood, along with the novella The Princess and the Queen and the novelette The Rogue Prince.
Fire & Blood is not in the main series that Game of Thrones is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire. The Targaryen-themed spin-off was released in 2018 to mixed reviews.
Martin is credited as a co-creator of House Of The Dragon, along with executive producer Ryan Condal. The show will air on HBO in the US, and will be available simultaneously in the UK, meaning it will first be broadcast at 2am on Sky Atlantic.
But if that’s too early for you, it will also be available to watch later that same Monday on the same channel at 9pm. Viewers will also be able to watch House of The Dragon NOW.
Episodes will be airing weekly on Sky Atlantic up until October.
