Is Fury-Joshua off as the ‘Gypsy King’ eyes up a different opponent?

  • Tyson Fury has claimed his anticipated heavyweight bout against Anthony Joshua on 20 November is off after alleging his rival backed out of negotiations.
  • The 38-year-old has instead challenged Oleksandr Usyk to a trilogy fight, having previously lost twice on points to the Ukrainian in 2024.
  • Negotiations stalled over location and contractual details, with promoters divided between holding the contest in the UK or at Madison Square Garden in New York.
  • Fury insists he will still compete on 20 November regardless and named Agit Kabayel, Filip Hrgovic , and Daniel Dubois as potential replacement opponents.
  • Both fighters had recently completed warm-up bouts in July, with Fury stopping Mariusz Wach in Thailand and Joshua defeating Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia .
