Anton Watson joined the Boston Celtics as the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA draft. The Gonzaga product is currently getting his first taste of NBA basketball in the Las Vegas Summer League. He has impressed throughout his first three games of the competition, showing two-level scoring, playmaking and defensive versatility.
One of the biggest questions surrounding Watson’s fit in the NBA, is his lack of size for the center position. In order to thrive in the NBA, Watson must improve his strength, defensive positioning, and ability to control angles.
During the latest episode of the “Celtics Chronicle” podcast, the hosts discussed Watson’s impact in Summer League and whether he could potentially carve out a role within the Celtics’ rotation in the upcoming season or near future.
