Former US national security adviser Mike Flynn has reportedly claimed that Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, Iran's newly appointed interim supreme leader, was killed in an Israeli strike just a day after taking office on March 1, 2026, following Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's assassination.
The claim surfaced amid spiralling Middle East tensions after Khamenei, who had ruled for nearly four decades, was reported killed in a joint US-Israeli operation on Feb. 28.
