SJFA chiefs have pulled the plug on this Saturday's Scottish Junior Cup second round tie between Troon and Irvine Vics.
The cancellation of the Portland Park clash follows the scrapping of an appeal hearing into claims that Vics fielded an ineligible player in the previous round.
SFA beaks were due to meet tonight to rule on an earlier SJFA decision to expel Vics from the competition for playing a suspended player in the penalty shootout win over Fraserburgh on August 27.
But Ayrshire Football News understands that Vics were informed last night that the appeal would not be heard due to time constraints.
And. SJFA spokesman John Fyfe confirmed today that Vics would not play Saturday's scheduled tie but stopped short on elaborating on their future in the competition.
He said: "It's currently a matter for the SFA, not the SJFA."
Troon and Vics have arranged to play a friendly instead on Saturday to keep themselves ticking over.
