Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) Andhra Pradesh unit president Somu Veerraju on Friday asked the State government to initiate talks with Odisha to clear all pending issues which led to delay in construction of Jhanjavati, Vamsadhara and other projects.
Mr. Veerraju, along with BJP MLC P.V.N. Madhav and Dwarapureddi Srinivasa Rao, visited Jhanjavati project located in Komarada mandal of Parvatipuram Manyam district.
He said that the YSRCP government had never raised the inter-State water disputes issues either in Parliament or in the State Assembly. “Jhanjavati project can ensure irrigation facility for 45,000 acres. It needs around ₹50 crore for its completion. The disputes with Odisha has to be resolved. But, Andhra Pradesh government has not taken any steps in this regard,” said Mr. Veerraju.
The BJP team also visited Madduvalasa project in Vizianagaram district. Earlier, Mr. Veerraju inaugurated BJP’s new office in Parvatipuram. He hoped that BJP would be a strong force in Parvatipuram-Manyam district.
