Temperatures are set to plummet tonight, with the north and east of the country forecast to experience the coldest conditions.
Subzero temperatures are expected as a blast of Arctic air lurks near Ireland, with Ulster and north Leinster to be the coldest.
Met Eireann is anticipating frost to develop overnight, while icy patches are also possible into Monday morning.

A Met Eireann spokesperson confirmed: "Cold, dry and largely clear tonight apart from the odd shower. Winds will be light and temperatures will fall to between -2 and +3 degrees, coldest over Ulster and north Leinster. Frost will develop in place with the potential for some icy patches also. Temperatures just above freezing in much of Munster and Connacht will prevent any frost development."
The cold snap will be very short-lived, however, as the country will return to milder conditions from Monday afternoon.
The week ahead is set to be quite a wet and windy one, particularly midweek, though Monday will bring just a few scattered showers.
Met Eireann continued: "Tomorrow morning will be generally dry with sunshine and a few light showers in Munster. Cloud will slowly build from the Atlantic through the afternoon and evening, with scattered showers developing elsewhere. However, most eastern and northern parts will remain dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in a light southerly breeze."
