Irish trainer Fozzy Stack plunged the €270,000 Belmont Oaks with Aspen Grove on Saturday.
Stack took a gamble by sending the three-year-old filly to America after finishing last in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh last time out.
But the Justify filly always travelled well in the hands of Kerry jockey Oisin Murphy who positioned her in midfield.
The 12/1 shot still had a lot of work to do entering the final two furlongs but picked up strongly under a masterful ride to win from American-trained horses Prerequisite and Papilio.
Owned by Glenn Hill Harm and Mrs John Magnier, it is easily the best performance of Aspen Grove's career and represents a terrific piece of race planning by Stack.
