An Irish tourist has been rushed to hospital after plunging from a hotel in the Majorcan party resort of Santa Ponsa.
The 20-year-old was said to be “serious” with head injuries when he was taken to Son Espases Hospital in the island capital after being stabilised at the scene following his fall from the third floor of the four-star TRH Jardin del Mar Beach Hotel.
The alarm was raised just after 4.30am on Saturday morning. It is understood that emergency services found the injured tourist at the back of the hotel in a gap between the hotel building and a small wall.

One local report said he had told emergency responders he fell while being chased, sparking unconfirmed speculation he may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time. The Civil Guard is investigating.
A spokesman for the force confirmed: “We are investigating an incident in which a 20-year-old tourist plunged from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Santa Ponsa. He has been taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma.”
The police force was unable to offer any official information early this morning about the holidaymaker’s nationality, but well-placed sources confirmed he is Irish.
Emergency responders stabilised him at the scene for around 25 minutes before taking him to hospital in an ambulance.
His worried friends are said to have followed close behind in a taxi.
