There are laws and official guidelines in Ireland on nudity when in public and in your own property.
So if you are thinking about taking off your clothes to head into the sun, it might be worth reading this.
Can I sunbathe naked in my own garden?
Under Section 18 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act (1990) "any person who commits, in public, any act in such a way as to offend modesty or cause scandal or injure the morals of the community shall be guilty.
"The person may receive a fine of up to €634.87 or six months imprisonment."
This means while the actual act of being naked is not against the law, if it causes offence to others it will be.
If you live in a house with a garden scarcely visible by others you should be all good.
But if you live beside a busy street and decide to bare all in full view of everyone, you could be in bother.
Can I sunbathe naked in public?
The law remains the same for this, if there are other people around you should not be fully naked in a park or at a beach.
You can go to discreet places that are hidden away like a quiet beach and do as you please but the law states if people deem your behaviour as offensive then you could face punishment.
