Irish President speaks of 'strong ties' with Scotland as visit gets under way

IRELAND'S President has spoken of the “strong ties” between her country and Scotland ahead of meeting First Minister John Swinney on Wednesday.

Catherine Connolly is making a four-day official visit to Scotland, which begins with a meeting with Swinney at his official residence, Bute House in Edinburgh.
