Belfast actor Jamie Dornan introduced his version of the beloved Tayto sandwich to the world on one of the most popular chat shows in the US.
The Irish star appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night to promote his new show The Tourist.
He also spoke about the success of Kenneth Branagh's Belfast, as well as giving the host a crash course in some authentic Irish traits ahead of St Patrick's Day.
Following this, the 39-year old actor was tasked with making a Tayto crisp sandwich – a 'Tayto smashie' as he called it – live on air, as Belfast Live reports.
Seeing the Tayto cheese and onion crisps on the desk, Dornan said: "This is as good a set up...this makes me very happy."
He then talks Kimmel through what he's making, saying: "What we're making here is called a Tayto smashie. Ideally you find the cheapest white bread you can find. There used to be a bread back home called 'Mighty White' which was like sugary death.
"You go heavy on the mayo – both sides – you don't muck around with light mayonnaise. Then that's regular ham. The cheaper ham the better. It all comes from the same animal. You go heavy on there. Five or six slices.
"You get Tayto cheese and onion, which is a company in the north of Ireland where I'm from. Their cheese and onion are the best crisps they do. You get the entire packet on there."
As Dornan bites into the sandwich down, he added: "This is the most exciting thing that'll happen in your day, year, your life, the crunch."
Even Kimmel gave the snack the thumbs up as he said: "I thought it was going to be good, it's about six times more delicious than I imagined."
Mr Tayto Northern Ireland was delighted with the global exposure, writing on Twitter: "Yeah, just us with our Jamie on Jimmy Kimmel showing them how to make a proper Crisp Sandwich!"
However, Irish people have been left divided by the sandwich, with many surprised by the ingredients.
One person said: "Jamie Dornan introducing the Tayto sambo to US audiences and using mayo and ham...omg."
A second wrote: "#JamieDornan Kinmel interview was fun. Love me a Tayto sandwich but no mayo or ham just loads of butter. Act it's best in Belfast bap."
A third commented: "Why yes, that is mayonnaise, ham and Tayto cheese sandwiches."
Others were impressed by Dornan's culinary skills, with some pledging to try out the 'smashie' for themselves.

While another added: "I’m not going to lie.. I’ve been out on my break and bought mayo and Tayto crisps to try it."
